The Maine Conservative Voice Endorses Dale Crafts

Once again the Republican Party has been blessed with a bounty of quality candidates. The three candidates vying for the nomination to represent the GOP, in its quest to retake the 2nd Congressional District, all tower above the current incumbent Democrat, Jared Golden. Golden has served his first term.

Viewed by a majority of CD 2 voters as an interloper, Golden wrested the seat away from Bruce Poliquin through an unconstitutional voting system termed Ranked Choice Voting. Despite having voted overwhelmingly against the RCV, the voters of the CD 2 found themselves being overruled by the votes of the 1st Congressional District. So in essence, the voters of CD 2 find themselves not represented by their majority vote for Bruce Poliquin, but by the result of the will of the voters of CD 1.

This outrage has been followed up by Golden’s constant kowtowing to the whims Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff at the expense of his constituents. The people of the 2nd District are rightfully infuriated. Their anger is palpable.

The time is ripe for a principled leader to come forward and provide representation in Washington that truly represents the people of the 2nd District. The Maine Conservative Voice believes Dale Crafts is that leader. A successful businessman from Lisbon will take the common sense that we treasure here in CD 2, along with a balance the budget business know-how, directly from our front steps to the steps of the legislature in Washington, where it is needed most.

I have had the opportunity to work with Dale Crafts on different issues over the the past few years. He has remained unwavering in his principles. He is steadfastly committed to a government that stays within its means, is frugal with the people’s money, unabashedly pro-life and pro-family, and immovable on 2A issues. Dale is principled, steadfast, reasoned in his approach, and deeply in touch with the people of CD 2. Please join me in voting Dale Crafts for the Republican nomination to represent the 2nd Congressional District in the House of Representatives in Washington D.C.

Climbing the Mountain

We keep pushing towards that $2000 mark for fund raising. We are getting closer despite some unexpected obstacles. Perhaps we should have expected no less from Facebook.

Yes, we established a social media account to network with some of the conservative social media groups that I have been associated with over the years. Facebook has blocked us from networking with these other groups. Their reasoning is that I am not a “legitimate” candidate.

We explained that we had filed our proper paperwork with the state and have been filing reports…to no avail. Facebook continues to block us from networking or fund raising with any of our conservative allies. Be assured that we will not back down and, yes, we are a legitimate campaign.

I am attempting an end-around to get my messaging out while we wrestle with the giants. We will keep climbing the mountain here in rural Maine to reach our goal before the end of the year. If you would like to help with any donation, please go to torbett4commissioner.com and hit the donate tab or you can send your check to The Committee to Elect Andy Torbett, 107 Buck Rd, Atkinson, ME 04426, attn Mark Kinney Treasurer.

Thank you for all the wonderful support we have received. I hope to see many of you when we start going door to door after the first of the year. Looking forward to victory in the spring and I know I can count on you.

God Bless,

Andy Torbett

Fundraising Update

Since we sent out our last fundraising appeal, we have seen a positive response. As I stated, I need to raise $2000 by the first of the year. We have raised about a quarter of that and we are very thankful, but we need to remain focused to raise the rest of the funds before January 1st. This is a bare bones budget to get our campaign materials to pass out door to door and signs for those that want them. We already have requests.

Your donation of any amount helps. Please go to our website torbett4commissioner.com to get more information about us and how to donate. You can also send your donation to The Committee to Elect Andy Torbett 107 Buck Rd Atkinson ME 04426 atten Mark Kinney Treasurer. With your help, I am confident of victory in primary vote in June.

God Bless and a Happy Thanksgiving,

Andy Torbett

One Two Gut Punch

A few days ago, conservatives received a gut shot the equivalent of a sucker punch to the unsuspecting solar plexus. After waiting in long lines to purchase a good but pricey chicken sandwich to show solidarity with a business that had come under assault from the LGBTQ cancel culture, conservatives, who have formed a battle line of defense with their dollars and patronage, were shocked to hear that Chic-Fil-A had abandoned their patrons and supporters at that battle line not unlike David leaving Uriah at the wall to his doom from the archers. Chic-Fil-A has announced it will no longer support organizations that embrace anti-LGBTQ viewpoints with charitable donations.

The most notable non-profit mentioned was The Salvation Army, which Chic-Fil-A is replacing with Covenant House, known for its radical pro-LGTBQ stance. This stunning reversal and capitulation has wounded the millions of Christian conservatives who invested their dollars and trust in a grassroots support campaign that saw the fast food chain double its profits in a year. The outcry and backlash has been immense.

Yet there are some Christian leaders who have, perhaps from an overriding addiction to overpriced chicken sandwiches, decried the outrage. Warning that we may not have all the facts, a call from the “Elect” has gone out to wait, to understand, and “Eat Mor Chiken.” So we waited, hoping, and then Franklin Graham posted an advisement intended to assuage our fears and moderate emotions.

We were assured that Dan Cathey, owner of Chic-Fil-A, had not compromised his Christian values and this was simply a financial “adjustment” by the charitable givings division that would not be giving donations to non-profits that have a stated anti-LGBTQ bias. It would seem that Rev, Graham has been watching too much of the impeachment hearings and has assimilated the doublespeak and double standards of the Democrat Party. The scriptural adage of “By their fruits you shall know them” reminds us starkly that we cannot just simply say we have Christian values.

While Rev. Graham has asked conservatives to completely divorce themselves from common sense, we need to understand first what it means to be anti-LGBTQ. It means stating that there are only two genders, “male and female created He them.” It means believing and stating that those two genders are inherently different than each other by Divine design and it also means being appalled and infuriated when a teenage girl, terrified and in tears, is informed by her “woke” school board that she will be forced to undress in the girls locker room in front of boys who “think” they are girls.

In short, we are now being told that values should be devoid of the Christian by our own Christian leaders. This is what the media has campaigning for decades to achieve and now we have a twofer on the capitulation. A forced acceptance of a new value system without a tethering to a moral sounding board, free to the whim of every popular media generated fad.

It’s a one two gut punch in the space of a week. Maybe Chic-Fil-A will pivot back, although new revelations show this betrayal of values has been a long time coming for the chain purveyor of pricey poultry. Graham’s confusing cover for the capitulation brings into question his qualifications to be a standard bearer for Christian conservatives.

We still hope for a rectification, but for now there are more economical venues for chicken delights. Should the uproar prove to be unfounded, I will look forward to posting an apology. I might even shuck out a few extra bucks for an overpriced chicken sandwich.
