Obama’s Magic Bus

A new found education
On how we best proceed
To cause some sad distraction
To publicly mislead
Away from our misfortune

The gaze of those who search

For lies, cheats and extortion

Or we’ll topple from our perch

__________________________

Try as we may

The things we say

Have lost their magic glow

We’ve got to teach

Or maybe preach

Obama’s magic show

___________________________

So this a time for learning

On how to play the game

When public fires start burning

You find someone to frame

Our own ideas keep failing

We won’t admit we’re wrong

While public trust is waning

We sing our tired old song

____________________________

Oh hey, I say

We found a way

To cover up the fuss

We’ll toss the blame

And those we shame

Beneath Obama’s bus

______________________________

At first we’ll throw our soldiers

They’re always first to go

We’ll use their codes and manners

To toss them to and fro

So honor keeps them silent

That works out good for us

Stowed quiet and convenient

Beneath Obama’s bus

_______________________________

So we can find

A real gold mine

Maybe some points to earn

Opinions move

If we can prove

This is Bush’s third term

Then there’s the old Spy Network

We hate the CIA

And that Bureau likes to lurk

Where our secrets need to stay

Let’s do our best to shame them

Ignore their sacrifice

Expose them for all who hate them

For we can’t pay the price

_______________________________

What we know

We dare not show

It might just take us down

We’ve worked so hard

This house of cards

To buff Obama’s crown

____________________________

Then there it is that sneaky couple

That snuck into our show

Hold on! Only we can hustle

Don’t dim Obama’s glow

Let’s look for more to collar

And throw beneath the wheels

As the public hoots and hollers

Let’s quickly make some deals

Don’t make us laugh

No proper staff?

You’re looking back at us?

Your transparency

Your expediency

Beneath Obama’s bus

So we’re in a messy fix

We need a guy to fall

I think I know some tricks

The perfect ones to call

These guys we know are taught

A bullet they are to take

If ever there’s a thought

The President’s life’s at stake

Oh hey, I say

We found a way

To cover up the fuss

We’ll toss the blame

And those we shame

Beneath Obama’s bus

So class, I hope you’re learning

What this man has taught us

And ignore the cries your hearing

From beneath Obama’s bus

The truth is not for teaching

Its words we can’t abide

If hearing is believing

Then all would know we lied

THE PALIN PROCLAMATION (A Prophecy?)

I’m really not gloating, I promise; although, I did post a blog on “the Maine Republican Hick” the eve of the Presidential election by this title. In this blog, I wrote some predictions on what I thought Sarah Palin’s introduction into the national spotlight would do to the political arena and to the voting citizenry. Much of my predictions are coming to fruition, but, be assured, I am not patting myself on the back….at all….really….I would never…..think…of doing….that…but did I mention that I wrote a blog/column called “The Palin Proclamation” in….(ahem)…ok, moving on.

I have found the hatred and fear of Sarah Palin startling even after I predicted it. (note to reader: extensive patting of ones own back can cause painful cramping in ones arm.) I think Governor Palin put it best by stating the hatred and disdain of her is really a hatred and disdain of middle America. This is not an overreach. Liberal elites are terrified of the idea of empowering middle America. If middle America were to be aroused and mobilized it would toll the death knell of elite aristocracy.

So the “Terror of Sarah” continues to mount. Elites attacked her at her weakest point, her children, causing her to fall back and regroup. To their utter consternation, Sarah Palin is back again stronger then ever. This is not what the political and media establishment expected. You see, elites have grown quite comfortable in their ability to exploit the average Americans greatest weakness; their families.

Sarah Palin is providing the blueprint to the rest of her fellow citizens on how to bring down the beast of elitism. Ironically, it seems she is incorporating the very facet of her life that the media deemed most vulnerable; family.

As I watch the media coverage of the Palin book tour, I see hints of a new protection strategy. Brief glimpses of the extended family of Todd and Sarah Palin begin to emerge as they weave a web of armor around their children. So the very thing elites disdain as weakness is becoming veritable fortress around the little Palins.

Still, the “Terror of Sarah” continues to climb. This wasn’t supposed to happen. The Media elite were certain that after they sent their rabid dogs after Bristol, Willow, and Trigger that Todd and Sarah Palin would retreat protectively to their “place” in Wasilla. It seems the “retreat” had far more to do with strategy than capitulation.

From the dust of what seemed a political misstep has arisen a political force. Yes the Palins have emerged stronger, but it is what has emerged with them that has elitist terror reaching derangement levels. “Average” Americans are beginning to put their feet into the political arena.

Like the mother who holds her nose in a dogged determination to clean her teenage son’s room, wholesome honest everyday Americans are holding their nose against the stench of Republican and Democrat elites and entering the fray of Sarah Palin’s battle. They have set aside race, religion and even small political differences in a pursuit of one goal. That goal is to bring down the dragon of the arrogant political establishment.

In our state of Maine and in other states across the country, people who normally would have recoiled at the thought of entering politics are doing so because they realize now that our Governments are too big, too arrogant, and too out of touch. This is the Palin Proclamation. We proclaim to Big Government , “Your days are numbered!”

Yet, I can’t believe it is completely contingent upon Governor Palin.

I hope it is not. We must temper our enthusiasm with the knowledge the Governor is afflicted with the same ailment we all have and that is human frailty. The attacks on the Palins will only increase feverishly. The opportunity for failure is high. With this in mind, we must resolve not to follow but , rather, stand beside the Palins in this fight.

Our cause is just. Big arrogant government must be brought back to where it belongs amongst the people. As we continue to fight and the elitist beast continues to froth its frenzied attacks, there may be casualties and disappointments. It should not dampen our resolve. For the sake of the generations to come, we must dismantle the elite political establishment. Government in this state and in our nation must once again be “for the people and by the people.” Maine Conservatives Unite!

It’s more about Todd Palin

Yea, it really is to me.  Not that I have a man crush on the guy or anything, but he certainly seems like a man my friends and I would hang with.
Anyone who has read any of my columns at any length will soon realize that my wife and I are strong supporters of Sarah Palin.  To us, she represents a hope that somehow a dose of common sense can still be injected into Washington.  But common sense is an attribute that should also be applied liberally to our support of Sarah Palin.

So what has that to do with Todd Palin?  (When I say Todd Palin, I’m also inferring the whole family.)  Todd and Sarah Palin are faced with the Herculean task of not only maintaining their family unit in this present society (which is a monster we all face) but to answer the call of a desperate nation at the same time.  Powerful forces are pulling at this couple demanding hard choices.  We have watched them make some and have been impressed.  Unfortunately for the Palins, the hard choices will not end.  They will continue to come.

So Todd represents a litmus test for us as supporters to gauge Sarah.  Why, you ask, do we need such a test?  Sarah Palin is terrific!  She is also (brace yourself) human.  While her upbringing and faith fill me with a strong hope that she is immune to the temptation of power, I’m reminded that the path she walks is littered with the carcasses of many grounded and faithful heroes.  Like you, I am heartened to see that her speeches are few and far between so she can quickly escape back to Alaska to be with Todd and her gorgeous children…her real reality.

There are many in this arena, where Todd and Sarah do battle, that disdain their “attached at the hip” approach.  The concept of “one flesh” is repulsive to many of the elite, even those supposedly on “their side”.  The combined power of the husband and wife Palins will threaten some.  They will try to wedge them apart.  Thankfully Todd and Sarah Palin seem to be one step ahead of them by always having Todd, beaming Piper, or beautiful Willow or Bristol “attached to her hip” wherever she goes.  It’s hard to wedge people apart that are fused together.

Obviously, Sarah Palin is a beautiful powerful woman.  She now operates in a place where the beautiful and the powerful become so obsessed with those two attributes that they become hollow shells that live only for more beauty and more power.  They succumb to a vicious cycle of flattery, guile, and spousal upgrades all in search of a new rung on the power ladder.  So we are concerned that power may corrupt her, too.

The Bible describes powerful women through the portrayal of two females.  First, Abigail was a beautiful, wise woman who rose above her own negative circumstances.  She used her giftings to stop a powerful man from unjustly destroying an entire village.  Jezebel, equally powerful but treacherous, used her feminine wiles to manipulate men and nearly destroyed her country.
I think Sarah Palin has the personality of Abigail from the Bible.  I think Todd and Sarah long ago made a commitment to fidelity,  to their children, and to avoiding the “appearance of evil”.  I know that sounds Puritan, Biblical, and Victorian, but hey, it works.

With a note of caution, Sara and I continue to support the Palins.  Remember, if she fails, loses sight of Todd, and destroys her family it doesn’t change our cause.  I sound callous I know but conservatism must march on.  It is the only hope for our nation.  For those of faith, if she crumbles beneath the challenge like so many before have done, it doesn’t change God.  He is bigger than failure and can heal and restore.

The Palins are doing all the right things.  Staying close at home, using the computer as a weapon  for truth, and keeping their little ones close is their essential strength.  I’m glad to see they know how to use a computer because there are others out here, namely myself, who are having a hard time catching up.  I don’t know, but there is just something about a roomful of men standing around with cell phones  twittering…. That makes me uncomfortable…I queess I just can’t get past the lingo…ahem.
We are in a battle for this nation.  A battle of ideals…virtue against corruption.  So I fear for Todd and Sarah Palin but I believe in them.  They must not lose sight of each other.  Whatever happens, I will continue to fight for my country.  So in the words of our greatest conservative….“Trust , but verify”
————————————————————————————————————————————
When the Palins resigned from the Governorship of Alaska rumors swirled through the media concerning the supposed demise of their marriage.  I asked my wife what she thought as we watched the Governor’s resignation speech.  My wife said, “Their fine.  I watched how they looked at each other when they kissed.  Their fine.”  I’m not sure how my wife knows all this from one split second kiss but I will trust my wife’s intuition over media reports any day.

The temptation for the Palins will be great.  The political elite will put constant pressure on them to put power above family.  The danger of becoming “elite snobs” detached from reality staring down their Chuck Schumer/Charlie Gibson noses at Americans is an unfortunate real danger.  So this really where it becomes about Todd.  No one knows Sarah Palin better than him.  So it is his inner strength  and sensitivity to his wife that demands accountability…another word confusing to elites.  Elitists believe that because of their talents and abilities  they are accountable to no one.  They sneer at those who by choice honor marriage vows and develop a system of accountability within a family unit. Those who are so self absorbed refuse to acknowledge the power of a functioning family.  The Palin family is a functioning family that is able to combat the forces coming against them because of accountability, because of their faith, yes, faith, and because above all they love each other…that is true power!

Accountability is the Palins’ strength.  It is every family’s strength.  Todd Palin must utilize the years of capital that he has earned and invested in his wife to confront, strengthen, and protect her and his family.  Family works this way.  When one is weak the other picks them up.  When one is out of line the other knocks them back in line again.

The Palins are guarding their family because they understand these things perhaps better than us all.  So, as much as I respect the individual, let us all focus on the task of combating a socialist President and his lackeys rather than falling into the trap of being enamored with a person.  Let us fight beside her rather follow her.  If we have a Spartan focus upon a goal rather than a person than the potential failure of those around us will not have a devastating effect on our battle.  I have a reasonable faith in the Palins ,but remember, blind faith belongs to God.  So pray for the Palins daily along with your country.  But remember again to always “trust but verify” .

Dance of the Wraiths

The epitome of wisdom is the ability to take ones failure, learn from it, and not repeat it.  Most importantly, wisdom demands that we discover the pattern of actions and decisions that brought us to the place of failure.  It then becomes an imperative for those who seek wisdom to acknowledge that pattern as a path to failure and seek a different path that leads to success.

The crazy thing is this sounds like common sense.  For most of us, we learned this from our parents as little kids.  We did something wrong, ended up with a very warm little bottom, and said to our little selves, “Hmmm…maybe I shouldn’t do that again.”  So, it stands to reason that everyone should understand that…right?

Wrong!  We forgot to figure in trustfund liberals.  These are children who have grown up never hearing the word “no.”  Every whim, every thought and every desire was validated and encouraged by doting parents who never saw the folly of placation parenting.   These children have grown into adults who are addicted to having their own way.  They won’t acknowledge error because they don’t know how.  Once they seize upon an idea they want to have it no matter what the cost.

I watch now as liberals in Washington and the media beat the drum of socialism clamoring for the dawn of a “new” America, “free” of capitalism  They call eloquently for healthcare for everyone.  Yet with all the speeches filled with passion, no one will answer the question of why socialist are coming to America.

Universal Healthcare has failed everywhere else.  It has infected and shriveled every society that has agreed to be it’s host.  Now it needs a new healthy specimen.  The United States, for all its imperfections, has had the best healthcare in the world.  So, Universal Healthcare is coming here to drain the life from it.

Children who have never been told “no” have never been challenged to excellence.  No one has placed demands on them and therefore the child is allowed to wallow in mediocrity.  We now have adults in power who prefer to be like everyone else instead of the hard work of individuality.  When you boil down all the arguments for Universal Healthcare, we end up with socialists simply wanting to be like the other socialists around the world.

I’m reminded of Jada, the villain Ice Queen in the popular children’s series The Chronicles of Narnia.  Jada came to Narnia because she completely destroyed her home world.  She was not looking for a fresh start to make amends.  She was looking for another world to consume.  Socialism and it’s ideas, like Universal Healthcare, have consumed the resources of societies the world over.  Now it needs a new strong society to consume.

Now we watch as Todd and Sarah Palin try almost single handedly stem this tide.  Watch the liberals as they circle their family in a strange, sickening dance, longing to destroy.  So shriveled and soulless, that they would even attack their little children.  Like hollowed sunken wraiths, these Washington and media elites are so addicted and sold to their ideas that they would abandon the will of the people and simple decency.  For what?!?  Just to get their way!!!

The epitome of folly is inability to take ones failure, learn from it and repeat it.
