Stealth Plus

In the past, this author has made much of the new stealth Democrat party led by Angus King.  Simply affixing the label of “Independent” over the top of the word Democrat on their banner and moving forward with the same agenda, function, and support system has been the tactic of choice for these new Maine Democrats.  This is understandable since the Democrat brand has suffered considerable damage to its image from the poor leadership it has exemplified at each level of governance in this Nation.

At the national level, the policies of Democrats have resulted in the deaths of border agents and a foreign ambassador, sent our debt spiraling out of control, crushed our economy, and made job creators the enemy of the State.  Here at the State and local levels, they have obstructed all attempts to fix a State, which had reeled for forty years under the weight of leftist big government policies.   This Democrat party is the same party, which has stolen billons from Medicare to pay for their own healthcare agenda, and then vilifies the Republicans who are now trying to save it for our seniors.  And now Angus King, monarch of all Stealth Democrats, has resorted to mocking Maine people who are concerned and frustrated that Maine’s resident wind magnate has used their tax dollars to place white, twirling, behemoth towers of government waste right in front of their lake view of Maine’s once pristine mountain landscapes.   He compares their concerns to a Godzilla B-movie in his latest TV ad.  Maine’s leader of the stealth Democrats seems to be lacking in some class, as well, but not lacking in millions of tax funded subsidies to pad his wallet.  But one member of King’s party incognito has taken stealth to a whole new level.

Mike Michaud must have found some new alien cloaking device, which he is keeping to himself, because after each November election the man simply disappears only to reappear two years later in Maine with his title of  “most irrelevant congressman” in tow.   Mr. Michaud has declared that he is willing to debate “anytime, anywhere.”

But when groups try to schedule him for debates with Senator Raye, he simply can’t be found… anytime…. or anywhere.

The National Federation of Independent Business has given him a rating of….zero.  Really….zero?  It would seem that simply inhaling oxygen and exhaling carbon dioxide in D.C could get you a higher rating than that.  The rest of his so-called Blue Dog coalition has got at least a 50% rating.  Zero…really?  Hence, the possibility of a cloaking device.  At least his carbon credits are low.

Conversely, Michaud’s opponent, Senate President Kevin Raye a small business owner himself, has been a tireless supporter of small business and is endorsed by the NFIB.  He has been an outspoken advocate for private landowner rights, speaking out against the abuses of LURC.  The Second District will be glad to know he is a defender of the Second Amendment and believes in traditional marriage.  Most importantly, Kevin Raye believes in the State of Maine, its people and its rich resources and potential.  He will not be silent in his defense of our great State while he is in Washington.   The Maine Conservative Voice believes that it is imperative we have a visible, yes, visible representation in Washington for the Second District as opposed to a man who hides in the shadows until he is prodded out to vote on the spike heel of Nancy Pelosi.  Kevin Raye is the right choice for the Second District and the State of Maine.

Give Me a Break!

With the US Embassies around the world in fear for their lives, our debt skyrocketing, gas at four bucks a gallon, and our the status of our Nation continuing to fall, the President is again more interested in giving his opinion on the NFL replacement refs.  This is just ridiculous.

Hop, Skip and a Jump

“Winter is coming, but these sweatshirts are perfect for fall.”   It sounds like the perfect slogan for the winter front of a department store here in the northern reaches of Maine.  Those of us who are beginning to enjoy the cool bite of fall in the air can fully comprehend the message in those words.  What is incomprehensible is why the Obama campaign would tweet this campaign message minutes before receiving the bodies from the Libyan consulate attack.  Yes, our President had your fall and winter apparel on his mind while the rest of us was recoiling in shock from the brutality of unspeakable monsters.

But it is easy, perhaps, to understand his lack of gravitas in this situation.  Three days before the attacks, security officials from these middle-eastern countries warned our Nation that these attacks from terrorists were imminent.   The President chose to skip every one of these security meetings in order to keep campaigning and no Marines were sent to protect the Libyan Embassy until after the carnage.  Marines at the Cairo Embassy were stripped of live ammunition.

Now his response, in the aftermath, is to blame our freedom of speech.  This has prompted the world at large to begin to now openly mock America’s foreign policy.   Even liberal columnist, Kirsten Powers, has implored the President to “stop blaming the victims”.  This, in light of the fact that the first response from this Administration was to blame a movie for the acts of vile hate, as if someone’s expressed opinion validates a response of murder and hate.

The President and his surrogates have also tried to portray this as an random, spontaneous act, believing that Americans would appreciate rape and pillage better if they felt the terrorists just stumbled into it, forced by the opinions of American filmmaker.  Unfortunately, even this silly notion is not founded on any shred of reason or fact.  The President of Libya has stated emphatically that this was a coordinated and previously planned attack by Al-Qaeda, meant to coincide with the anniversary of  9/11.

While the President has tried to heap blame on the freedoms and liberties we enjoy in this Nation, Governor Mitt Romney denounced the attacks and refused to apologize for American freedoms, imperfect as the expressions thereof may be.  For his show of strength, the President and his media surrogates have vilified Mitt Romney.  Imagine a leader doing something so heinous as decrying evil and defending the United States!  It might even be thought of as Presidential, for shame!

Sarcasm aside, the Democrat Party has a virulent strain of the blame-anybody-else-but-me virus running through its very core of function.  It runs from the White House all the way down to our local Senate Races here in Maine.  In Senate District 27, Herb Clark has been trying to convince voters here in the Highlands that he was duped into sponsoring the bill that called for a feasibility study of the East-West corridor.  That he was somehow forced to hop in front of the cameras when he desired the publicity at the bills signing.  And now that he has jumped off the train, he calls his opponent Senator Thomas a “flip-flop” for calling for a slow down of the train so that all the information can be correctly and clearly disseminated to the people affected by the corridor.  Mr. Clark prefers to apologize for the dispensation of truth and knowledge, something we in the Highlands hold in high regard.  Truth and knowledge has the ring of freedom to it.

How are we in District 27 supposed to trust the Honorable Herbert Clark with the sacred duty of making decisions that effect our livelihoods if the good Representative can’t even trust his own judgment?  People of Maine, we are a people who pride ourselves in our discernment and common sense.  If Representative Clark can be so easily “misled”, so easily confused, and can so easily advocate the shut off of information, then we should be certain that he is a poor representation of the voters of District 27.  We should never apologize for the Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press and the Freedom Of Information.  The Democrats seem more concerned with placating maniacal monsters and hiding from truth than defending the very Freedoms that make this nation great.

One Nation Under….Water?

Are we “one Nation under God”…or not?  The Democrat Party made a strong bid recently to state emphatically that we are not.  While the Party, whose symbol is an ass, keeps making overtures to the Muslim Brotherhood and Sharia law, it also made a point of attacking the very foundation of this great Christian Nation.  The Democrat Party voted at their convention to remove God and Jerusalem from their Party platform.  After the inevitable outrage from the U.S. citizens materialized, leadership at the convention forced a vote to put God back in.  But the DNC delegates protested the re-entrance of God to their Party with a loud, raucous chorus of “Boos”.

The United States balances on the brink of our own demise.  Our economy is so shaken that it can hardly take much more of the inept leadership we have seen from Liberals.  We are in great danger of rounding the point of no return.  And the first order of business for the Democrat Party is to kick God out?  The next is to insult and attack one of our closest and trusted allies, Israel?

With the true unemployment rate at 19%, the President still continues to ignore those trying to give him advice on the matters of job creation.  He has spent four years wasting the American people’s time and now has the audacity to speak to the voters asking for a second chance, hoping he might change.  He brought Bill Clinton up to ask Americans for a “do-over”.  Even Joe Biden has been channeling Bill Clinton with biker chicks in diners, all of this with a Nation in crisis.

To all of my good, God-fearing friends who are Democrats, we share the same core values that made this Nation great.  As you look at your Party and wonder what happened to have changed it so drastically, think about what you truly believe in your heart.  Think about the things you hold dear and want to pass on to your children and grandchildren, peace, prosperity, the respect of God, Country and love of family.  These are things this last Democrat convention seemed to ignore or reject.  It is a true saying that the Nation, which is no longer “under God”, will no longer be “indivisible with liberty and justice for all.”
