What Gives?

It is the traverse in the woods of ideology. The divergence in paths once aligned. It is here where the “one Nation” meets its impassable chasm, a void too deep and too far to bridge.

One path still holds to the ideal that was this Nation’s founding. The other moves away from that ideal, curling, meandering at times, but always moving back towards the old ideals of Europe that we left so long ago. Ghosts are calling through the mists of the abyss between us that ne’er we be twined.

The onslaught of anti-gun legislation, appointments, and rhetoric highlights the stark contrast in ideals, our paths. On the one, is the knowledge that the Constitution does not grant any of the Rights it delineates, but rather is the protector of said rights. On the other, is the perception that the document grants the citizens their rights and by extension the government it establishes.

A subtle difference and yet not. If a document grants you the rights of Liberty, then it can be amended to curtail such Liberty, and if its government is the administrator of those Liberties granted, then it can be used to police and revoke them. This fuels the rabid and persistent attempts by the Left to dismantle the 2nd Amendment.

To the Conservative, the document is the bulwark, the protector of the Liberties it acknowledges. These Liberties are inherent, stamped, wired into our DNA at conception. Whether it be through God, the universe, or evolutionary happenstance, Natural Born Rights are instinctive and irrefutable.

This is the chasm between us. One believes utopia attainable through the government of the citizen, the curtailment of Rights. The other refuses to surrender its Natural Born Right of self-defense to the greatest mass murderer in world history, government.

My Vote for Bruce Poliquin, My Vote for 2A, My Vote for Liberty

They want it bad. Oh, they really do. They’re convinced there is going to be a blue wave.

What remains to be seen is the response from the voters. For us in the 2nd District, the question will be whether we fall back into patterns of old of allowing liberal false narratives and skewed polling data to intimidate us or remain vigilant to defend the ground we have retaken. The choice is ours.

As for me, in the 2nd District, I choose Bruce Poliquin. To be truthful, I am surprised that the race is considered close. You would have thought we would have learned our lessons by now.

The first being the lesson we all learned in the Q3 battle. The truth that the rural voters banded together to turn back the assault against our 2A rights from Micheal Bloomberg and the alliance of southern Maine liberal interests groups. But united as one we stood and won a decisive victory.

So why divided now? The contrast is the same. Jared Golden is allied with the special interests that attacked our Natural Born Rights incessantly.

From tossing rifles on the ground to refusing to shake Poliquin’s hand after he had particularly bad debate performance, he seems more a tantrum throwing brat than self-described veteran who wants to be a leader. One that struggles with the truth it would seem, as everyone from Governor LePage to the Wall Street Journal have called Golden out on his blatant lies concerning Poliquin’s votes on healthcare. In this election more than ever, playing loose with the facts is a prerequisite to running for office in the Democrat Party. Such stark mischaracterizations, you would think, will not pass the scrutiny of the voters of the 2nd District, so noted for their adherence to common sense, but, stranger things have happened, like a guy throwing a rifle on the ground and still considered to have the intellectual and common sense fortitude to represent the 2nd District.

Bruce Poliquin has worked tirelessly for Maine. From the moment he has taken office, he has been relentless in defense of our great state. I’ve known Bruce to be straightforward and honest with me, never afraid to take my call, even when he knew he might not like what I had to say.

The complete and utter lies that have been launched against Bruce are reprehensible. We of rural Maine cannot reward Golden’s not-so-golden behavior. The best way to take the bad behaving Democrats to the woodshed is at the ballot box.

To be straight, this is not the time for disunity. The task is not complete. The President needs our support like never before and he needs that support to be unwavering because the DC swamp is relentless in their attacks against him.

Poliquin will give the President the support he needs. I’m asking all the Conservatives of the 2nd District to stand united once again for Freedom against leftist attacks. Send Bruce back to Washington!! He has my vote and I hope he will have yours.

Immovable Force

The tactics that have been utilized against gun owners have filtered over into every corner of the political realm. The Left is desperate to undo every gain that the voters of the United States have earned in the last two years. Any semblance of ties to the conventions of decency and honesty have been severed and the tactics of Everytown have been fully embraced throughout the media and Democrat Party.

What are Everytown tactics? The most famous or infamous is the gun violence/gun laws poll of Chicago done by Everytown for Gun Safety, toted by President Obama, and still inexplicable held as proof by Democrats that their gun laws reduce gun violence. Everytown started with the gun violence rates of Chicago alone before the implementation of strict gun laws, then factored in the gun violence rates of all of the rural farming communities of Illinois with Chicago’s violence rate, and, surprise, Chicago’s gun violence rate dropped dramatically when mixing in all the farming communities that had a violence by gun rate of zero.

This polling “study” was exposed eventually for fraud and Everytown was even called before Congress to answer for it; but still it is used by Democrats, which exposes the true purpose of polling data by the Left. Liberals no longer gather information to find the pulse and direction of the people. They formulate data to drive the direction and pulse of the people.

In elections past, liberals have used this tactic to depress conservatives from voting. Polling data would always appear showing enthusiasm among conservatives was not strong, the moral compass of the nation shifting, and liberals so enthusiastic. Election after election this tactic was used effectively to discourage the conservative vote

The polls always seemed so accurate because conservatives believed them and allowed themselves to despair of victory. The belief in polling is strengthened only because voters historically allowed themselves to be manipulated by them. In time, polling seemed almost prophetic and candidates whom the polls prophesied against trembled at their doom, at least, until last election.

Donald Trump didn’t give a rat’s hairy hindquarters about polling. He was all business and, what every businessman and politician wish they were, the ultimate showman. He laughed, mocked, scorned, and exposed all of the Left’s tactics.

So when the inevitable polling prophesied his defeat, he called them liars. His supporters fed off his enthusiasm and he, in turn, fed off theirs, and together they defeated the inevitable. But the job is not complete.

Again, the left is using Everytown style polling to try and put voters back in their place. To discourage the enthusiasm to take their government back, the Left will use every lying poll they can and voters must ignore them again, again, and again. Stand resolute to finish the task and support the President who is fighting for you.

It’s not enough to bask in the satisfaction of seeing the Left “get theirs.” Voters need to be the immovable force that stands like a breakwater against all the lies, rioting, threats, and false polling meant to dissuade the voter from going to the polls. This nothing more than little Johnny or Suzy throwing a tantrum because they are used to adults giving in just to quiet them and spare the embarrassment.

Liberals are used to manipulating exhausted Americans with tantrums. The noise may be exhausting, it may look insurmountable, and probably intimidating. It supposed to be. That’s the tactic.

Now is not the time for Americans to give back any ground. Giving an inch to Johnny only makes him worse in the next tantrum. Let’s be that immovable force, not give any ground, and prove them liars once again.

Different Reality, Different Neighborhood (Silence of the Dems)

Every gun owner in the state of Maine watched in shocked disbelief at Jared Golden’s campaign ad in which he leaves the parting visual to Maine Voters of a rifle being thrown to the ground. The first and very basic precept of gun safety is to treat every gun as if it were loaded. It would be safe to assume, given the nearly non-existence of accidental gun discharge incidents in our fair state, that the majority of families have passed down this basic tenet of gun safety and that basic knowledge somehow got lost in translation somewhere in the Golden family.

If the disconnect of the Democrat Party was not evident before, it is stark now, blazing and heralded in neon. Americans are fair, just as Mainers are fair. We are troubled, along with the rest of this Nation, that a man can be convicted based solely on hearsay and innuendo, rather than evidence, fact, and corroboration.

We are fair-minded and believe any victim of assault has the right to be heard but so does the accused. Judge Kavanaugh’s accuser has been heard, and heard, and heard, and heard again hourly on the 24 hour news outlets and yet, when the Judge was finally given an opportunity to defend himself, he was openly mocked by the Democrat side of the dais, even to the point of laughing at his emotion when referring to the trauma his wife and daughters have faced. The Democrats and their leftist media allies have gone so far, better yet, so low as to print cartoons mocking Kavanaugh’s 10-year-old daughter for praying for her father’s accuser.

If we as Mainers are fair-minded, and we are, then it is fair question to ask, Why the deafening silence of our local Democrats? I have worked as an activist and writer for some years now and I have witnessed my Senator, Paul Davis, challenge and criticize his own Party on many occasions, but his opponent, Sue Mackey Andrews, has made no such defense of due process and the right of the accused to defend their innocence.

She and Dr. Evans, with their resounding silence, have endorsed and embraced the smearing of a man’s good name based on hearsay, tenuous hearsay at that. The Democrats have gone full throat in attacking our Border patrol, our police force, our military, and still silence from our local Democrat candidates. They have been vocal in their embrace of the anti-2nd Amendment agenda of the Democrat Party though, saying the defense of our Natural Born Right to self-defense “goes to far.”

It seems our local Democrats live in a different reality, separated from fact, like the overwhelming defeat of Bloomberg’s Q3 initiative at the hands of rural voters, the ones they wish to represent. Rural Maine overwhelmingly approved of Governor Paul LePage’s policies and yet Janet Mill’s is openly campaigning on reversing all that the Governor has accomplished, with more trumpeting silence from Andrews and Evans. The Democrat Party has called the brave men and women of our police force killers, rapists, and racists, and still not one word from our local Democrat candidates.

One of our local Democrat candidates lives in a different neighborhood altogether. With a few phone calls and a little investigation, this columnist was able to verify, with the Addison town office, that Dr. Richard Evans has applied for and received the Homestead Exemption for his residence in Addison, Maine. On the application, the applicant must check that his residency is in the town that he wishes to have the exemption. Dr. Evans declared on the application that his residency is Addison, Maine, which for geographical reference is not in the House District he is currently running for office in.

He has his mail delivered to Dover-Foxcroft in an attempt to appear to have a residency in Piscataquis County so that he can run for office here. Piscataquis County has long enjoyed local representation from Senator Paul Davis, Representative Norman Higgins, and Representative Paul Stearns that was just a call away because we knew that they lived here. We don’t know where Dr. Evans resides.

Whether Dr. Evans wins the election or not, he is most likely assured of an investigation into the ethics and violations associated with his subterfuge and duplicitous campaign. It’s one thing to be all things to all people, it just should be kept in the district to which you are running for office. That’s still the reality in a real world.
