Silence is Golden: The Embodiment

Maine is blessed with pristine vistas where souls can find their quiet repose and reflection. The soothing sounds of nature, while rejuvenating, prove to us that in the silence of the forest it is nearly impossible, even in the whisper of the wind and the chirp of the chickadee, to find complete silence. And yet, Jared Golden has managed to achieve the impossible.

As the sound of shuttering death, the slam of the doors of venerable, generational establishments of private enterprise in Maine reaches a deafening cacophony under the heavy misguided hand of Governor Mills , there has nary been a peep from the less than Honorable Jared Golden. The Second Congressional District, which he represents, stands to have irrevocable damage done to its fragile economies as the Governor crushes them beneath her mindless heel, yet not even the customary whimper of Democrat talking points from the Congressman. Mr. Golden has become the embodiment of fearful silence; hidden, cowering, and invisible.

One would expect, as CD2 is facing impending doom from the barrage of Draconian measures from his Party, that Golden would at least have a trembling prepared statement in her defense. Is it too much to ask for a Congressman from rural Maine to have the backbone to stand against Nancy Pelosi and Governor Mills to speak in our behalf? But Behold!, fellow Mainers, Representative Golden has managed the courage to vote, in pensive, furtive subjection, to have someone else vote for him.

Golden’s Goose Eggs

Like the snow in Maine, the list of Golden’s Goose Eggs are piling up. Golden started his term by co-sponsoring a bill with Chellie Pingree to funnel tax dollars into his campaign. Now add bills that would eliminate private insurance and use tax dollars to fund abortions. His one attempt to represent his District by voting against gun control sent him cowering in mute repentance, after a threat and rebuke by Ocasio-Cortez.

Silence is Golden, Still

Democrats are laying the whip to the foundations of our Republic. Those who represent us are either standing aside in mute obeisance or taking their beating in silence. What can be learned from the whimpers of the cowed, distant in the still?

Representative Ocasio-Cortez has laid down the law. The gauntlet has been thrown. The new leader of the Democrats has taken charge.

Moderate Democrats have been given notice. Voting in any way that represents your District, but does not represent the Democrat agenda, will result in being blacklisted. How will Jared Golden, who campaigned on standing up to his Party, respond?

Jared Golden voted against the gun control bill, even making a public statement that the bill did not reflect the will of his constituents. This prompted a swift rebuke from the new leader of Green Deals. Stepping out of the new green lock-step will find you on the Ocasio-Cortez naughty list.

There is an expectation, in a Republic, that the Representative should attempt to represent. Should a Representative speak to power in defense of those in his District? Not if the Democrat Party holds its sway over Golden.

Imagine in this Republic, being placed on a blacklist for attempting to represent your constituents. Imagine that Representative already too cowed and bullied to issue a public response, a rebuke for this travesty of overreach. Imagine no more! If you listen to the reality, you will hear the still and quiet that surrounds the silence that is Golden.

Silence is Golden

There is an expectation in this Republic that the duly elected Representative of the people will represent the people. Not so for the voters of Congressional District 2 (CD2) in the state of Maine. As the freshman Representative from New York, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has established herself as the standard bearer of the Democrat Party, Jared Golden, the freshman Representative from Maine who campaigned on standing up to his Party, is content to offer his silence as consent.

The Cortez inspired Green New Deal has Democrats breathless to get on board but when the citizens have voiced their opposition, Cortez’ response is “I’m in charge”, and “I’m the boss.” This flies in stark contradiction to the basic tenets of the Constitutional Republic. So we wait for Representative Golden to defend the Republic we hold dear in CD2, and yet, only silence.

The cost of the Green New Deal to every household is $650,000 to fund its $93 trillion price tag. Devastation lurks in the wings of Congress for personal economies. The Golden response is silence.

The regulations and mandates proposed by the Democrats New Deal would crush the economies and businesses all over CD 2. Cortez, the new leader of the Democrats, has a solution for the impending fiscal demise Democrats create, “Don’t have children.” Still, silence from Golden.

Since Jared Golden co-sponsored a bill with Chellie Pingree to funnel tax dollars into his campaign, Golden has done nothing to decry his Party’s careen over the fiscal cliff of insanity. He seems content to cower in the shadow of the Green New Deal. CD2 needs a voice to stand for them in Congress against this regulatory tyranny, but silence is Golden.
